Quote

Uthman ibn `Affan said: I heard Allah's Messenger say: "Verily, I know a phrase which no servant utters truthfully from his heart except the Fire is made unlawful for him." `Umar ibn al-Khattab said: "I shall tell you what that phrase is. It is the kalima of sincerity with which Allah has empowered Muhammad and his Companions, the kalima of fear of Allah which Allah's Prophet enjoined upon his uncle Abu Talib on his deathbed: the witnessing that there is no god but Allah." Ahmad related it in his Musnad (1:63 #449).

Nabi & Rasool (Alaihi W'as Salat-o-Tasleem)

A Nabi is that blessed servant whom Almighty Allah sent to the people with His laws for guidance. All the Ambiya (plural of Nabi) were human and male. Jinns and women cannot be considered as Ambiya. The revelation (Wahi) from Almighty Allah is revealed upon a Nabi sometimes directly or through an Angel. Even the dream of a Nabi is considered as a revelation. Ambiya are free of all minor or major sins. They are Ma'soom (do not and will not sin). With the exception of Ambiya and of Angels,
no other creation is Ma'soom. The Ambiya are always the most excellent and exalted in everything they do. Almighty Allah blesses His chosen Ambiya with the Knowledge of unseen. To respect, love, honour and to be obedient to the Ambiya is obligatory (Fardh) upon every Muslim. The love of a Nabi is precise faith. In other words, if any person has any bad thoughts about a Nabi, then he cannot be a Muslim. The slightest disrespect to any Nabi is Kufr (will remove one from the folds of  Islam).

Rasools refer to those blessed servants of Almighty Allah who have been sent with a certain Shari'ah. Rasools are not necessarily humans but also Angels. Every Nabi is a Rasool, but every Rasool is not a Nabi. In Prophethood, all Prophets are equal, but they differ in status. No person can become a Nabi through his Ibaadah or piety. It is the Grace of Almighty Allah, that He grants Prophethood to whom he pleases. No other Prophet shall come until Qiyamah. It is now Muhaal (totally impossible) for any Prophet to come, since the Doors of Prophethood have been sealed after the coming of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) who is the Seal of Prophets. He is the Final Messenger (Khaatimun Nabiyeen) of Almighty Allah. Any person who claims Prophethood, or believes that any other Nabi can still come, or that the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is not Khaatimun Nabiyeen, is an infidel and apostate. Such a person is worthy of the Wrath of Almighty Allah.

Prophets are alive in their graves. They only taste death for a split second in order to fulfil the promise of Almighty Allah, that "Every soul shall taste death". After this, they are brought back to life. Even though we cannot understand their lives in their
graves, we should believe and accept the fact that they are alive. They are given sustenance in their graves by Almighty Allah. They even make Ibaadah in their graves. Almighty Allah has made it Haraam (forbidden) for the earth to consume the bodies of the Ambiya (alaihimus salaam).

The number of Prophets is only known to Almighty Allah. Thus, it is not proper to put a fixed number of Prophets of Almighty Allah. However, we should keep this belief, that we bring Imaan on all the Prophets of Almighty Allah. Many Prophets have
been mentioned in the Holy Quran. Some of these Prophets are, Hazrat Adam, Hazrat Nooh, Hazrat Dawud, Hazrat Sulaiman, Hazrat Yahyaa, Hazrat Loot, Hazrat Hud, Hazrat Ayoob, Hazrat Idrees, Hazrat Zakariyah, Hazrat Shuaib, Hazrat Ya'qoob, Hazrat Yunus, Hazrat Ilyaas, Hazrat Ibrahim, Hazrat Ismail, Hazrat Ishaaq, Hazrat Yusuf, Hazrat Alyas'a, Hazrat Zulkifl, Hazrat Saleh, Hazrat Moosa, Hazrat Haroon, Hazrat Esa (alaihimus salaatu was salaam) and finally our Beloved Prophet
Muhammad Mustapha (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), who is the greatest of all Ambiya, and through his blessing, his Ummah is the greatest of Ummahs.

Almighty Allah created our Beloved Nabi (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) first from His very own Noor (light) and from this light He created the entire Universe. In reality, only Almighty Allah knows the true status of Hazrat Muhammad (sallal laahu
alaihi wasallam). The Jinns, the humans and the Angels, even Sayyiduna Jibra'il (alaihis salaam) cannot understand his status. The Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has been blessed with unlimited Mu'jizaah (miracles). He split the moon in two, brought back the already set sun, and made the stones read the Kalimah. Trees and plants revered and honoured him and even animals showed respect to him. The greatest Mu'jizaah given to him was the Holy Quran which is a way of guidance and a way of life for the entire universe.
